The school year is off to a strong and exciting start here at United South Central! We've been fortunate to enjoy warm fall weather, which has only added to the positive energy throughout our school. Classrooms are buzzing with activity as students dive into new learning, explore challenging topics, and participate in meaningful hands-on projects. The smiles and upbeat attitudes we see in the hallways each day are a great reminder of the enthusiasm our students bring into the building.

Homecoming Week was a huge success, filled with fun, spirit, and unity. Students and staff took part in dress-up days, school-wide activities, a Homecoming dance, and celebrated Rebel Pride all week long. These special events help build a strong school community and create lasting memories for everyone involved.

Looking ahead, MEA break is just around the corner October 16th-17th, and the end of the quarter is quickly approaching on November 4th. Please take a moment to encourage your student to stay focused by turning in any missing assignments, engaging fully in class discussions, and preparing for upcoming assessments. The final half of the quarter is an important time to show growth and finish strong.

Our fall sports teams including volleyball, tennis, football, and cross country, have been working hard and representing USC with pride as they head into playoff season. At the same time, other activities like speech, robotics, theater, yearbook, clay target league, knowledge bowl, and cheerleading are ramping up. We encourage all students to get involved in an activity. It's never too late to try something new or join a group that sparks the your student's interest. Participating in extracurricular activities not only builds skills and friendships but also enriches the overall school experience.

As we embrace the beauty of fall, with cooler mornings and colorful leaves surrounding us, I hope you and your family find time to enjoy the season together. Thank you for your continued support of our students and school. Wishing you all a safe and enjoyable rest of the month,

Jen Bye
