Students in Mrs. Soost’s class have been diving into the world of phonics with the new CKLA reading curriculum. This week, they focused on the “bossy R”—that tricky letter that changes the sound of vowels in words like car, bird, and turn. Through interactive sorting activities and lively discussions, students practiced identifying and organizing words with -or, -er, -ur, and -ir patterns, building stronger reading and spelling skills along the way.
