In their CKLA lesson, Mrs. Jones’s students explored the fascinating world of the five sensesβ€”sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. This lesson focused on the sense of sight, introducing new vocabulary words such as iris (the colored part of the eye), pupil, sight, and leap. Students engaged in meaningful discussions about what it means to see and considered how experiences might differ for individuals with limited or no vision. During a fun β€œturn and talk” activity, they observed and described the color of each other’s irises. Through hands-on learning and thoughtful conversation, students deepened their understanding of how the sense of sight helps us connect with and interpret the world around us.
