During reading in Mrs. Feist’s classroom, students explored elements of poetry, including tone and alliteration, while demonstrating their understanding of key vocabulary words, such as stir, through a close reading of “Resolute” by Amanda Gorman. Students examined how the poem presents two distinct tones, discussing the contrast between them and how Gorman’s word choice and poetic devices shape meaning and emotion throughout the piece.
